Food is excellent! Service on the slow side, but probably just getting into the groove of things as they just opened for the season.
Great
Unique and peaceful dining with awesome food. Will be back!
The atmosphere was a refurbished black smiths shop and the food was outstanding.
Quaint, quiet and delicious on a Sunday morning.
We had an awesome time in this restaurant. We enjoyed the wonderful vibes and the meals. The staff members are very amiable. I’m glad we finally managed to visit this spot.
I celebrated my PhD this evening in this fine place. Well it was a magnificent evening and the restaurant was definitely the reason for this happy evening. The waiters cooperated in a sweet way, the food was great and my guests were very thrilled. We shall surely return for more events. thanks very much.
Delicious from start to finish. Charming atmosphere. Gracious hostess. This place is an real treasure that made for an absolutely memorable evening. We even picked up a couple of finds from the antiques offered.
We shopped and had dinner here today. Both were a delightful experience indeed!! The shopping, food, atmosphere and drink's were absolutely THE best!! On top of being wowed by our experience the hostess was very accomdating, warm and very knowledgable of the antiques and merchandise she has for sale. We drove from Madison and will do so again in the near future. This is a rare gem of a place!! A MUST for lovers of antiques, great food and a cozy atmosphere.
Drove 121 miles to meet a friend here who had eaten there before. We got there at 1:15 p.m. on a Wednesday, thinking it would be less busy. It wasn’t busy, but we weren’t served. Not only were we told immediately upon our arrival that she could not serve us because “she had to serve seven people,” but she did not seem to understand how rare it is for a restaurant to purport that only serving a few people at a time is at all reasonable or acceptable. She asked us to come back, and we explained to her that we both drove a long way to eat there, and we took off work to plan this and could not afford to come back later because of our jobs. We will not be returning, and are amazed that this is considered an appropriate business model. If you really can only serve a handful of people at a time, please make that clear on your social media and/or require reservations. Incredibly disappointed in the lack of service and interest in having customers.
Most comfortable dining experience we have had in a long time, the food is unique and wonderful. We would recommend this place to anyone....
We loved eating here! Clean and friendly place!
Lunch at Franklin Grove after Christmas shopping in Madison. What a welcome break with steaming soup, hot mulled cider, and sandwich. No room for dessert 😟
Had a very good experience in this spot with my wife. The food arrives quick and the service is just good. Prices are affordable.
Great spot, atmosphere and friendly service! Excellent menu choices.
Great food friendly staff and so much fun browsing the wonderful assortment of antiques for sale.
A wrap and a bowl of soup took at least 45 minutes on a Sunday. I was 35 minutes into the experience when I was told that they had run out of my soup. That was on a Sunday at around 1:15. Lunch service starts around 11:30. They have a very small kitchen, and planning is clearly not their forte at this point. I hope it improves, I really do, but this was not a good experience.
What a wonderful meal we had here! Everything is home made and fresh! Great story with this building and you can buy some of the antiques there! This is truly a need to go to place and she does tea parties!
We could not have been more pleased. The salmon flat bread was wonderful and my wife's salad very good. The decor was quaint and the service outstanding. Well worth venturing off the beaten path. This place is a little gem, we will be back when in the area.
Lovely, friendly atmosphere. Good food.
Fantastic gem, hidden away from the busy city life. This restaurant is also an antique shop in an actual blacksmith shop from the 1800's. The food here is on par with the best restaurants in Madison.
Wonderful dining experience in an old world unique setting. Low key atmosphere but great personal attention from everyone from the waitress to the chef/owner. Got to check out the Friday fish fry and Sunday brunch.
Fantastic and local food...love Kathy Burgweger...she is an awesome chef..
Love coming here. Feels like a transportt to a different time. Homemade cooking with ingredients fresh out if the garden. Sweet ladies. Peaceful. Lots of hygge.
Fantastic food, great service, cozy atmosphere, and you feel like home!
The food is wonderful! Each meal is made with love, which sometimes takes a bit longer. There is so much to look at while you wait! The environment is an inviting space to meet friends and enjoy quiet conversation over delicious food!
This restaurant is a magical island of cuisine in the middle of the luscious green country right next to the Sugar River. You can get an inexpensive lunch or a nice dinner and their potato pancake side is something I daydream about with some regularly. The vibes alone are worth the trip. Highly recommended. If you have a canoe or kayaks, try floating down the river and getting out in Attica for lunch or dinner.
Love the meals! Pear salad was best salad hubbie said he's had in a long time. Talked about it for 4 days! I had quiche that came with generous, freshly sliced fruit & sweet bread. Served on vintage (Moderntone I think) place settings! Lovely owner was delightful to visit with. We highly recommend!
Very nice place, and the food is great!
My wife and I visited here and enjoyed the quiet peaceful atmosphere. Thier garden antiques are very cool. We purchased a Wren house that we have hanging at our home
Very good food, unique setting with reasonable prices.
A charming little restaurant to enjoy with friends. Great food!
Love the decor. A very relaxing time. Very friendly. I had flatbread that was tasty!
Lots to see and great food! Fun place!
